I am a public servant with O Division of the RCMP. Since 2013 I have been the informal conflict manager working hard to build resilience among employees. Before that, I served in the Canadian Air Force for almost 3 decades, as an operational Air Navigator and then a mediator.
I became aware of my authentic self fairly late in life, in November 2013 at almost 55 years old. Having married a wonderful woman 25 years earlier, raised two kids and navigated a painful separation and then healing from that for almost 7 years, I found myself looking for a new partner and awoke to the possibility that it could possibly be a man instead of a woman. Living my now authentic life has been very liberating and exciting. And doing so in a policing environment has been an added bonus for me.
I kissed a few frogs first before finding the prince of my dreams. We got married in February this year and are excitedly embarking on the rest of our lives together.
