Constable Joseph Beaton is an out, open and proud trans man. He has ten years of policing experience with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His real education began when posted to the First Nation Reserve, Eskasoni, Nova Scotia. He feels privileged to have been part of the RCMP Musical Ride, where he participated in the performance for Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday. He now works with the Sexual Assault Review Team, at National Headquarters, Ottawa. His spare time is spent advocating for colleagues as a Peer to Peer Advisor, making connections via the Interdepartmental Pride Network, and changing the world one conversation at a time.
